The Creapture Project
2013

'The Creapture Project' was made in conversation with two artists, one philosopher and my mother.  Each creapture's length and weight matched my collaborator's measurements as a newborn.  Each doll-like anthropomorphic portrait is wrapped in fabric, what psychoanalyst Winnicott calls a ‘transitional object’, essential to every child's understanding of body boundaries between his and his mother’s.  Their weight when handled seems to give them an uncanny sense of presence.
