'Hold' is a pair of miniature hands inspired by the monumental ones found in El Monumento a la Madre whose figure holds an ear corn. Here, the hands hold a humble earlobe instead. 'Hold' is meant to make their owners feel ‘held’ by their earrings, as though the sculpted hands are holding them, hugging them, as opposed to them wearing the jewellery.  The 2020 pandemic has made us reevaluate the importance of human touch and physical contact.  These earrings thus aim to bring a sense of comfort to those held by them.
