Biography
Adeline de Monseignat (b. 1987) is a sculptor whose practice explores the body, memory, motherhood and our relationship to the natural world. Working across stone, bronze, glass and organic materials, she draws on the tactile and symbolic qualities of matter to examine transformation, resilience and care. Her forms often emerge from familiar motifs, such as seeds, pebbles, leaves, spheres, ladders, and bodily fragments, that shift in scale to become both intimate and monumental. Rooted in lived experience yet reaching towards universal narratives, her work considers sculpture as a vessel for memory: something that can hold traces of our bodies, relationships and environments across time.
Based beween London and Mexico City, Adeline holds a BA in Language and Culture from University College London (BA, 2009). She also completed a Foundation Diploma at the Slade School of Fine Art (2010), and received an MA in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School (2011). Her work has been shown internationally at Museo Cabañas (Guadalajara, Mexico), Museo MARCO (Monterrery, Mexico), Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), Victoria Miro (London, UK), Yorkshire Sculpture Park (Wakefield, UK), Casa Wabi (Mexico City, Mexico), MASA Galeria (Mexico City, Mexico), Leila Heller (New York, USA), Royal Society of Sculptors (London, UK), Galerie Kandlhofer (Vienna, Austria), Contemporary Sculpture Fulmer (Slough, UK), and most recently Cadogan (London, UK), and Bo Lee Gallery (Somerset, UK) who represent her.
