Artist Postcard Project

The Cob Gallery for Cobble Together
London, UK

PV: Thurs 27 Feb 2014
Runs: 28 Feb - 10 April 2014

The Cob Gallery has launched a new charity, Cobble Together For The Arts, that will tackle inequality both in the arts and through the arts by providing education, employment and community projects for young people in London. The ambitious first project for Cobble Together is a series of three films, starring BAFTA nominee Ruth Wilson. The film installation, Eleanor, examines what is like to be alone in a city like London; exploring how we seek companionship. The three films follow three pieces of new writing by some of the UK’s finest young playwrights, Polly Stenham, Michael Leslie and Anya Reiss and is being directed by Toby Ross-Southall and Alex Warren.

To run alongside the film’s exhibition in The Cob Gallery, and to celebrate the gallery’s three year anniversary, there will be a presentation of postcards by a range of artists who have previously exhibited created in response to the film. The stimuli for this project are the same as the film: three poems, which can be found below.
