Priere de Toucher
2011
'Prière de Toucher', an homage to Duchamp’s breast-cover exhibition catalogue 'Le Surréalisme en 1947', is an invitation to touch.   As the role of the bell jar to prevent contact is subverting, the viewer is able to place their hand inside the abdomen of the sculpture, in fact the pocket of a fur coat. This piece made me aware that tension was stronger where touch was suggested – access-less through glass – but not performed.
